The3hr activity begins in Storms River Village at MALI Lodge / Tube 'n Axe with a welcome, orientation briefing and 30min kit up
A 20min drive though thick indigenous forest gets us to our drop off point where each participant receives their own tube.
From here its a short 100m walk to rivers edge at the low water bridge in the old Storms River Pass
A final few do's and don'ts and safety demonstrations conclude the formalities and we set off on a flat water upstream paddle into the calm of the Plaatbos Indigenous Forest Nature Reserve
In the first 100m you'll get to try your nerves on a 6m high optional rock jump... don't worry, for those not so daring there re lower alternatives
Satisfied with the jumps, we paddle across the pool to a sandy beach where we get out and walk up 250m of rocky river bed with our Tubes to where our next challenge awaits....
Tubes are are laid down on the river banks and Stand Up Paddleboards mounted... If you've never done this, this flatwater pool is a great place to start... don't worry, you can sit and paddle these, or, paddle them like a surfboard too.
The 660m flatwater paddle on SUP's takes us deep into the calm of the Plaatbos where sightings of Fish Eagle, Knysna Turaco and Pied Kingfisher are common place. We've even seen Leopard and Otters here before.
The experience of Tubing & SUPPING the 'Green Route' section of The Storms River involves relaxed, entry level activity with lots of swimming, splashing, and laughing.
Now we paddle back to where we left our Tubes... remember that we had walked up the side of the river to get here.
S.U.P's safely tethered again its feet up and bums up as we tackle the down stream tubing run through Chainsaw rapid
Indigenous Forests, Fresh drinkable mountain water, Plaatbos Nature Reserve, Baines Pass, Ancient Elephant Trail and an easy fun few hours out in Nature with a combination of cool activities
Blackwater Tubing Brings you to the 'Place of Sparkling Waters' - Tsitsikamma
Now we pop back out in the same calm pool where we started and those that want still want to jump get to it again.
Our Driver is waiting at the low water bridge ... all aboard for the 20min drive back to base in Storms River Village still in your wet gear. We get changed back at base into our dry kit.
(paddling, optional jumps, Stand Up Paddle boarding S.U.P. ) and lots of fun in unique untold scenery
The Green Route Tubing & S.U.P. Combo gets you into remote unexplored sections of the Plaatbos Indigenous forest Nature Reserve
